Facts about Changi Airport
  • Kallang Airport is Singapore's 1st Airport.
  • Changi Airport is 5 times larger than the old Paya Lebar Airport.
  • 70 million of passengers can be handled by Changi Airport each year.
  • Bacteria is prevented from growing on the food to sent into the airplane  by rapidly chilling it to 4 degrees celcius.
  • Airplanes do not permit cooking as there should be no open fire.
  • The height of the control tower is 80 metres.

Station 2 (Food paradise above Departure Hall)

Gurney Drive Restaurant serves authentic Malaysian hawker food.The very experience to the meaning of “Penang Hawker food” is the heart and soul of every Penang resident and the true essence of the Gurney Drive concept.

Station 3 (Depature Hall)



This green wall located at Changi Airport is 5 storeys high and 300 metre wide vertical garden featuring 25 plant species. The leaves are heart-shaped and the stems are weak.

This fibreglass propeller is named Daisy and it moves interactively as it has light sensors mounted along its 13-metre height sense the presence of onlookers and hence enable it to move interactively. It is the masterpiece of Christian Moller. Its work explores synergies between sound,light,weather and motion.
Liquids (water,sauces), creams, balms, toothpaste, hairspray... are not allowed on board the airplane. The reason behind is that it may cause the creation of explosive items. So the airport ensures safety and security by placing CCTVs and there are security arm forces patrolling area.

Station 4 (Arrival Hall)



Every ton of recycled paper will save 17 trees.
Recycling efforts at the Singapore Changi Airport have seen 6399kg of paper and 101296kg of carton boxes anually.


Station 5 (Basement 2)



This card allows us to earn 200 points while we shop at Changi Airport.
If we have accumulated 4200 points, we will receive a voucher worth $200.
Earn one point for every dollar spent.

Improper usages of the slide:
1) The user should not go head first into the slide.
2) The user should not extend their hands and feet at any time in the slide.

This slide is Singapore's tallest slide standing at a height of 12 metres or 4 levels tall.We should be at least 1.3 metres tall to ride the slide.This slide is open from 12 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily.
